Third Bridge and Xakanaxa - The day-to-day itinerary for the prospective trip involves stop over’s at Xakanaxa and Third Bridge areas, where scheduled camps are set up. The quest for viewing big game and experiences a true African bush experience brings guests together where they spend a few nights exploring the areas. It is one of the most sought-after wildlife areas in the country- huge area with permanent swamps, islands and open savannas, a paradise for birders and animal lovers. The list of inhabitants here is endless with the likes of hippos, elephants, crocodile, the elusive sitatunga antelope, red lecwhe, leopard, cheetah, lion, wild dogs, giraffes, zebra, fish eagle, weaver birds, herons, king fishers, monkeys and baboons to mention a few. Each morning here, starts at day break with a quick breakfast before heading out on game drives or boat trips. Guests return to camp for lunch, rest, and shower then have afternoon tea, before embarking on the search for an evening game drive. At dusk, visitors return to camp for the night, have dinner and gather around the camp fire for bush tales and stories of Africa, normally shared by the guide and camp staff. One of the advantages of travelling by “mobile camping” is the location of the camp sites; in the midst of the bush undisturbed by any sign of modern elements. When setting for the night – the sounds of the bush takes whilst one lies in the tented camp, enjoying the various sounds generated by inhabitants of the wild. This can be regarded as one of the most amazing parts of the trip, to experience the co - existence between nature and man.
